THE CANCER SCIENTIST

Cancer is one of the biggest health threats worldwide. The WHO reported 14 million new cases and 8.2 million cancer related deaths in 2012. The number of new cancer cases is expected to rise by about 70% over the next two decades, making cancer research and cancer prevention strategies all the more important.

The Cancer Scientist is an online based platform initiated by the Foundation for Innovative Medicine. Our mission is to provide useful information and tools, to help accelerate current efforts in cancer research as well as lay the foundation for future research projects and prevention programs.

We offer a large number of educational videos on different topics related to cancer including the biology of cancer, cancer pathways and signaling, targeted cancer therapy, cancer related talks from Nobel laureates and other genius scientists, cancer research methods and many more subjects.

For cancer researchers we offer a variety of different bioinformatics tools and instructions on how to use them. We also share our experience for some of the tools we used in our own research projects and give you detailed video tutorials that outline the applications of those tools. Furthermore you will find huge cancer datasets from publications or cancer databases.
